What is Intense Pulsed Light Treatment
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology is based on the principle of selective photothermolysis and photochemical effects. This broad band light source reacts with the skin tissue for, hair Removal and Skin Rejevenation.
Features
Angelite’s new cutting edge technology, VSPC (Variable Synchronized Pulse Control), enables more effective and safe clinical results. FDA-Approved for permanent hair reduction, less pain and discomfort compared to other treatment methods, large surface areas can be quickly treated, minimized chance of scarring or pigmentation changes, fast and convenient treatments.
Is it Safe?
Angelite’s three-layer filtration technology (lamp tube, lamp flow tube and multilayer coating), blocks the harmful UV light so that the transmitted light used for treatments is in the safe range and has no side effects to the practitioner and Patient. Variable Synchronized Pulse Control (VSPC) selectively heats the target tissue while maintaining surrounding tissue at safe and comfortable temperature. It aids greatly for treatments on darker skin types or treatments requiring more energy. Multiple rectangular pulse waveform technology allows the user to obtain the best treatment results by selecting different pulse widths and pulse delays for different treatment areas and skin types.
What do I Need to Do to Prepare for Laser Hair Removal Treatments?
Limiting exposure to sun and tanning beds prior to and after treatment will best prepare your skin for an IPL treatment and assist in achieving the best outcome. You can generally resume work and most normal activities immediately following treatment. Exercise is not recommended after treatment.
What Does the IPL (Laser) Hair Removal Treatment Feel Like?
Fast and Easy! First the area to be treated is cleansed, and shaved. Using the IPL hand piece, gentle pulses of light are emitted that penetrate the skin and begin disabling the hair follicles. Each pulse of light creates the sensation of a slight sting similar to the flick of a rubber band. No anesthesia is required and most people find the treatment comfortable and effective. Our system is offering DUAL COOLING for enhanced client comfort: Integrated cooling (PCC) System and Sapphire Contact Cooling! This Dual Cooling insure maximum comfort and safety without additional chillers, cryogen sprays, and cooling gels. When the procedure is complete, most of the hair wipes off right away. The remaining hair falls out over a period of about a week or two.
ARE THERE ANY POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS?
Side effects are rare. Sensitivity, irritation, soft scabbing or redness can sometimes occur at the treatment site but resolves quickly or within a matter of days. In certain cases, skin can become slightly lighter or darker. During your consultation, you’ll be informed as to whether or not you would be susceptible to these conditions. To greatly minimize the risk of complication, sun exposure needs to be limited for two to three weeks before and after treatment.
IPL works in a minimally invasive manner to thermally destroy the hair. This is what makes the treatment so fast and comfortable. Two or three days after the treatment, stubble may reappear. This is not new hair growth, but simply the body shedding the unwanted hair, including the bulb. When this hair is completely shed, it’s time for your next treatment.
Can all hair types be treated?
IPL ( laser) hair removal treatment targets the melanin in the hair follicle so any hair containing this pigment can be treated. Your therapists at Avora Skin Spa, Coquitlam will assess your hair type and guide on whether your hair is suitable for IPL treatments.
Factors that may affect the treatment
Certain factors may make your body more sensitive to light, which don’t exclude clients from treatment but must be disclosed during the consultation. Test patches prior to treatment ensure safe and effective results or any client situation.
How many treatments will I require?
Hair grows in three cycles called Anagen, Catagen, and Telogen. IPL most effectively interacts with hair in the Anagen or active growth phase when the hair is highest in pigment, hence multiple treatments are required to accomplish permanent hair reduction. On average approximately 29% reduction will be noticed in the initial treatment and as much as 95% reduction can be realized in 4-6 treatments.
